If WotC would like a clear understanding of a major barrier to entry of DnD to mainstream, taks a gander at this thread...

Heh, where was the term used? On a 4e design blog. What are the chances that a non-gamer, heck, a non-D&D gamer is going to read that? While it may not be zero, it's close enough to see zero on a clear day. It's not like it's an official term for a role or anything like that. It's a game designer using netspeak to communicate with his audience.

If you don't know what he's talking about, you probably aren't his audience.

It's a little-known fact that "Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa" means "I'm a Kulp, I'm a Kulp, I'm a great big Kulp."

Now you know. And knowing is half the battle.

I think he meant that one of the obstacles to getting the game into the mainstream are threads like this, or rather the things we gamers project to outsiders in this thread by getting so involved in other people's usage of a fairly obscure term for describing something in the game.

Not the term itself.

At least, that's how I read it. I could be wrong, though. It's happened before. :D
