Official Tomb of Horrors 3.5 conversion (merged)

One additional thought: I find parallels between having a D&D character in Gary's early games on par with someone who has a Chaosium "Call of Cthulhu" investigator who's managed to survive and stay sane after many years of research. :D

I was extremely happy to see that. Running this as an Eberron module would be extremely fun, and somewhat meshes with a few of my other "convert old modules to Eberron" ideas. :]
 

Wow, I didn't realize this many people hated TOH. I went through it as a PLAYER, and absolutely loved it. This was in the early 80s and I was in high school by this time. To be sure, I didn't like dying, but it was like a badge of honor to die there, rather than in some random dungeon somewhere.

What's that supposed to mean? Could you explain please?

If it's a crack on the stereotypical elven fighter magic user,you are quite wrong. Keebler was missing 3 fingers on his left hand, had about 6 magic items total, including a sword that told him what to do more often than he did it. It was far from a monty haul campaign. If it's a crack on his name, well, what can I say, I was a teenager. :o Silly name aside, I don't see how my choice of character name, race, or class denotes a certain gaming style.

We're going to have to do something similar with DL3 Dragons of Hope, too, when it's converted over to 3.5 and becomes part of Dragons of Autumn. Tracy Hickman put a demilich in there (the remains of Fistandantilus), and it's only an adventure for around 7th level characters!

To be fair, he also put a vorpal sword in the module just in case, but still.

I was, indeed, referring to the name. (And it wasn't meant as a "crack," simply a comment, and a fairly "jokesy" one at that.)
 


They should have written the conversion for 21st level characters.

I'm disappointed that they didn't at least use the juggernaut in the MM2 for the juggernaut in ToH; instead they used a stone golem with mods.

Good conversion, though, if that's what you want out of it.
