Oh no, I lost my Bolt of Glory

So i looked it up, (those spells that i now have access to)....for example: Wave of Grief: LvL2 spell, does great things but when we are lvl 18, there are not many creatures that will fail their save. The create undead seems really underpowered (please tell me how i'm wrong...i am hoping to be wrong :))

I'm not putting down the spells or the suggestions btw, nor am i looking to contradict people here, i just want to make sure thats understood...

apart from changing the spell to the evil descriptor, I was hoping to find another spell that pact a punch...mabey what i should also do is post (in a different thread) my spell list that i commonly use and people can figure out where i have gone wrong, cause for an 18 lvl cleric, i don't find i pack much punch compared to the others in the group :)

Any help is still very appreciated,

Clerics are great blasters at higher levels if you choose to go that route.

What shouldn't be done is pigeonholing someone else's character to a role he may or may not desire.

That was my thought too.

He should be able to do whatever he wants and is able to do, rather than being bound by some imaginary role delineation. Doesn't matter that he WANTS to be evil, doesn't matter that he WANTS to be offensive...he's not dong anything wrong, just different than what you find acceptable.

Can you just dismiss and banish those outsiders? maybe rebuke the undead? What are you strategies outside of blasting?
 

First off, thank you to all of you in participating in this thread, its appreciated and i enjoy the feedback :)

I am not a blaster by definition, i am very rarely Melee either unless someone needs to get hit and the fighter is occupied (not very good at melee, apart from decent weapon, RightiousMight, Divine Power, etc... but that takes time..unless i do a timestop first).

Its just that sometimes, its really really usefull to do 20+D12 damage when its needed. That is now gone as an option..i can do 20+d6 damage but its not nearly the same :)

I cast recitation, heroes feast, heal when nessecary, give SR to all the group etc.. but i also like the option of doing some pretty hefty damage when it is needed.

The Evil part is the way the path has gone, and we are exploring it...will it stay? WHo knows..but it sure is fun to be attacked by planetars from time to time, or have your once "we saved the city" turn against you and you become a public manace...there are certain fun traits to that. Will we seak attonement? Mabey...but there is always a way to do it when the need will arrive :)

Anywho..i find my character lacks that 1 punch spell. Mabey there isn't one. I can use pretty much any hardcover 3.0+ book, except the BOVD and BOED.

Any suggestions? or, what else may be a super usefull lvl 6 replacement spell in question?

Cometfall from Spell compendium doesnt look too bad, you'd be doign 15d6 but its a 5ft radius so you could catch multiple creatures...

Harm maybe?

Come on now. Everybody knows clerics only have one role.
