Olympics: Who is watching?

Is it just me, or does anybody else wonder every time they show a shot of The London Eye, that there just has to be a Torchwood base underneath it...?:D

Eh? Why?

Torchwood London was in Canary Wharf, before the Cybermen and Daleks destroyed it. Under the Eye was the Nestene Consciousness.

Honestly, I don't know why.:o But everytime I see it I think to myself that would be an awesome place to have a base. Besides, since the one in Cardiff is fubar, I think it would be a great place for a new one...that is if there ever is another Torchwood. I even said it to my wife one night while we were watching and she said she'd thought the same thing.

I'm not sure what that says about either one of us...other than we're obviously perfect for eachother.

Watching a lot and loving it -

I'm sorry for you guys in America who seem to be getting a somewhat bastardised version of stuff on TV.

Somewhat bastardized?

The NBC primetime coverage of Andy Murray's victory over Roger Federer in men's tennis singles consisted of one televised shot: Murray's final (ace) serve in the final game of the final set; then Murray fell to his knees before getting up to meet Federer at the net.

Yes, that was it for primetime: one stroke of the ball -- Murray served it, Federer couldn't get to it, game/set/match over.
That was at the start of the broadcast; after that, NBC switched to covering other sports.

(Maybe NBC executives thought that everybody who cared about tennis had already watched the whole thing on cable?)

I was disappointed. (Even more, I don't recall having seen anything at all about Ennis in the Heptathlon.)

Equestrian events mostly. Football, handball, gymnastics, trampolin, most water sports (including sailing), track, table tennis, martial arts, shooting (including bow) and fencing is next on the list. The triathlon was interesting this year, too, with the close finish.

Not so much into biking events though my husband likes them. Generally dislike boxing. Hockey looks silly without ice.

The sexist beatchvolleyball - no, thanks. Seriously, what are they thinking?

The most entertaining things are the scandals, especially in the German teams. And all the wrong decisions and unfair disqualifications, although they take the fun out of it.
