Hmmm seems tight around here, but let's see if I can squeeeeeeze in here. Howdy, the name's Barsallas...What's that, my last name? Well...I kinda forgot after that fight in the woods a couple years ago, I got so excited I completely forgot to remember my last name! What the heat of battle will do to you...But that's a long story I can't quite recall. I'm a strong warrior, or so I've been told, with a nasty habit of loosing my head sometimes. But, I can guarantee this! If there's a comrade in danger, I'll be his shield and sword! I heard from the local bar tap that you're going on a quest, nay, an adventure and I was wondering if you could use a hand! You never want to travel alone and the more people you go with the easier it is to remember your travels. So what do ya say, can I lend a hand?
(Ummm if you haven't guessed it...Barsallas is a barbarian and if you were sharp you might of noticed his prestige in devoted defender. See Barsallas here once traveled with a friend but it seems they got carried away and got ambushed in the woods by a haunting spirit, seems Barsallas tried to cover his buddy a little too well and got struck by the creature giving him a shock to his brain. When he woke up in the morning he couldn't remember his partner, who probably fled, he also forgot his last name...and a couple other things at that.) If you're interested let me know, I'll throw together a character sheet in a jiffy....man my brain hurts after that draining inspiration of improvised genus. [yeah...I JUST made this up off the top of my head, well cept for the barbarian devoted defender thingy, I kinda had that in mind, but I work best with spur of the moment situations.]

Is that how it works?

I thought the +1 would cost 2,000, and the Icy Burst (equivalent to +2) would cost 8,000, for a total of 10,000.

I'll be happy to change it if I misunderstood.

There are great articles by Skip Williams in dealing with creating magic items at the wizards site. The one specifically dealing with weapons can be found here.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'll change it tomorrow.

Now I just have to decide whether to keep the weapon, lose a couple of other items, and be poor, or just lose the "burst" part and still have a nest egg...

I definitely don't want to seem like a powergamer here, but I *did* spend a feat on improved critical so it's not going to feel good to give up the "burst" part. Decisions, decisions...

Hmm... I think "burst" will probably have to go. It's essentially costing an additional 10,000 gp, and it's hard for me to justify spending over 1/3 of total wealth on a single special quality. :\

Yes h4h Tempest is in the Complete Adventurer. I don't need to know what the changes are though cause I have the book for myself, though you're welcome to take a look at it

Just checking in with everyone. I'm busy reading through the adventure and getting ready to go. I'll post a deadline for characters soon and we'll see how many we can fit in the party.

Ok, two things. One randomling is a sorc, not a rouge. Just was looking at it, and saw the mistake. Second.......what's with me being the only one with my race on it! I'm not the only person who knows what race they want to be! Are you just making sure everyone knows I'm small? lol jk jk, but point 1 is valid.
