I tinkered with the bonus eqpt form mighty +2 to mighty +1 as his strength is only 12.

Nahh, you get the regional equipment for free, the regional feats are just added to the list of possible choices. They don't actually give you a bonus feat 'slot' so to speak.

You're right. I just checked to make sure and regional feats are not bonus feats. I'm not sure where I got the idea that characters get a bonus regional feat. It seems every group I've played FR in 3e before does that as a house rule. I'll make a few modifications to my character in that case.

I chose a regional feat as a level one feat. it is th only feat i get, but I likes it very much.

I've toyed with house ruling regional feats into bonus feats just to see more of them on character sheets. Not this time, but I may consider it in the future.

 

[Myth and Legend]

In Off to War, HM gave us one free 2/2 feat at char generation. (like Acrobatic for example) since skill boosting feats aren't usually on anyone's feat list, and they help define your character better.
