D&D 5E [OOC] Escape from Castle Illvithar

Great, so I should have components covered for Mage Hand and Message. That should help out with sneaking. The dwarf can stay a distance away and we can still communicate. That may allow us to get back to the bedroom so I can get a spell component pouch. We could, uh, try the other chests too, since I can stay pretty far away from them.

Need to consider 1st Level Spells... sleep is usually a go-to, but (meta) doesn't effect undead. A lot of the remaining enchantment spells have saves and my 10 INT isn't helping there. Color Spray is usually not considered a good spell, but it affects everything in the cone that sees. Could cast, move, and hide in one round. Many of the illusions also have saves...

Will ponder some more.

OK, I think I'm going with the following spell list:

Cantrips - Dancing Lights, Message, & Mage Hand
1st Level: Detect Magic, Color Spray, and Silent Image

I had considered Minor Image but figured Dancing Lights would be useful for sweeping corridors/rooms while keeping us in darkness. While I could have gone a lot of directions with my all-purpose 1st level spell, I think Detect Magic may be my best bet considering magical traps. That wand only has a few charges, if I recall correctly.

Open to any suggestions before I finale.

I think the problem with the familiar is having reliable spell components to reproduce it. I'm not sure if the costly material components are going to be available. Since I only have one universal slot, I think it is better served going toward Detect Magic.

We could try to lure it downstairs into the underground lake. Didn't we spot some kind of weird plant-monster down there too? Alternately, we can try to hide in that room with the door on the east wall north of the intersection, assuming we can get it open.
