[OOC] Horror High - Freshman Year

It looks like maybe Juno is the local, and both Tasha and Francis are comparatively new. Tasha spent most of the early part of the year at McLean, and would be 'transferring' in to start the new school year. She would definitely be the 'new kid'.

If Francis's family has a farm, they are probably on the more rural (Waltham) side of town. Werewolves frolicking at Thoreau's Walden Pond- now that is 'back to nature'. Maybe she went to school on the Waltham side last year, and was shifted in the Belmont district for "some reason".- she would be 'new' and possibly derided by the snooty Belmont kids as a hick or a redneck (even if she is just from the next town over- many of the suburbs and small towns really are that territorial, and well, kids can be jerks...).

Maybe Janice, as a relatively 'rookie' cop with local ties (No Investigate yet?) might have drawn a shift as the school 'resource officer'- not necessarily a full-time assignment, but one or two days a week... And maybe Tasha and Francis, with their less-than-traditional backgrounds, might merit a 'welcome' lecture (not necessarily a 'scared straight talk, at least not yet- I'm thinking of the initial conversation in Buffy s1 e1, with the principal). Or maybe they saw something odd, something that kids who are "used to" the town/school simply ignored, but that they, as newcomers, actually noticed...
I'll just be running with this, I think. I don't know much about the east coast, and nothing of geography other than what can be gleaned from Google Earth.

Another thing that occurred to me: kids these days all have phones right? Should we assume that we have access to whatever a "normal" kid would have, like smartphones, backpack, etc? Between that and stuff my family might have (but that wouldn't be the property of me specifically; screwdrivers, farm equipment, batteries, TV, family car, etc), I don't think there's really any other inventory stuff I need to get. All I can think of would be a basic tool kit (DC13; taking 10 with my initial +3 wealths would get it) and then a cell phone, bringing me to 1 lonely wealth.

Please do account for cell phones via Wealth checks. Right now, for the teenage characters, Wealth Bonus mostly represents what you get from your parents.

Okay, here are ze numbers. Zey are ze backbone from which I shall plant ze background and so on in fertile soil.

Ahh...nothing like a well-mixed metaphor.

As is clear from the stats, Juno is quite the hooligan in the making. My original build featured a 16 in Str, but I couldn't quite wrap my head around a 15 year old girl with Str 16 BEFORE she turned into a supernatural horror. Plus, I wanted better distribution.

In rough terms (fleshing this out now), Juno doesn't have a lot of respect for the educational process, seeing it as something other (mostly richer) kids might do something with, but that won't really do much for her. Her interests at school are mainly social and athletic...hey, free gym. Can't complain.

She rolled well on initial Wealth too...I suspect some ill-gotten gains while sis wasn't looking! :)

Hey, they both start with 'S' ;)

*Whispers: "Plus, we ought to be nice to her. I heard she is, like, 'challenged' and stuff. And well, you don't want her to punch you, like she hit Troy- he was going to, like, totally get a scholarship for football; now he can't even walk straight. I don't know how she didn't get, like, arrested..."

Got the official character sheet up in the other thread. Managed to make the Bio section more efficient, finally. I went with the toolkit, a leather jacket, and a license. I figure a learner's permit will have the same mechanical weight as a regular license, so I frittered away my final wealth on it.

Edit: character portrait is up! Photo-chopping took as long as finding a good pic in the first place, but there it is.
