Oh! I slightly misread your post, sorry about that - but still glad I made the right ruling haha.

Yes those awareness (ie perception) checks are important. Thankfully they won't happen in every fight.

Troika! doesn't have many backgrounds with very high weapon skills, so having a lawyer is a good playtest in and of itself.

Something I will mention: Miu's vision may seem a bit useless to the players. Metagamingly, you already knew this... but your characters didn't. Maybe Dubi Gan was wrong for example. So the vision is confirmation that you are on the right track.
