Inflicts Sonic damage in a radius measured by MILES.

Limited to creatures of the plant type.

I'm still confused about what caused the trees to explode but not kill everyone else in the town.

I know, DM/author's fiat. But is there something I'm missing?

It doesn't make sense to me either. Thunder doesn't normally destroy trees as far as I know. I've seen trees hit directly by a bolt of lightning and they split, but the rest of the forest is fine.

It does fit the lack of druidic sonic damage protection on the trees and the four second count for the light versus boom for a four mile away strike, but does not really say why a lightning strike four miles away would snap trees like matchsticks.

I don't think it's really meant to make sense. It is meant to catch people by surprise and say "Awesome!" or "Cool!" But I don't thik natural rules and logic apply much in the comic strip. If that were the case, Belkar would be dead by now.

Anyway, I hear what your are saying. Thunder doesn't kill trees, lightning does. But I'd say don't think too much and just enjoy the strip!
