They're not paladins, just fighters. Heck, maybe even warriors.
oh yeah.. they are a nice shade of grey and not the azure blue like all the rest.. not even a pretty shade of tan like the fallen....

My only worry here is that we're about to witness a long-term splitting of the party, to follow two separate plotlines. A brief separation is one thing, but one of the best things about this strip is the character interaction; I'd hate to see a long-running plotline that keeps them apart. (It's one of the things I disliked in the first Dragonlance trilogy, too.)

I foresee Haley, Belkar, and Roy (eventually) in one group; Durkon, Elan, and Hinjo in the other. V could wind up in either, but I'd guess the former.

I think Rich could make that work, though. It would certainly make it more difficult for Roy to get raised right away, since Durkon would be in the other group, which would add some weight to his death. And it would give more screen time to Durkon, hopefully, if there were less characters to juggle in each group.

Maybe the split could be Haley, Beklar, Roy, and Celia on one team, Durkon, Elan, V, and Hinjo on the other?

I'm sure he could. But even if it's done well, it's just not a plot device I prefer when dealing with a group whose interactions I like so much.

I don't want it to be harder to raise Roy. :p Roy's my favorite character. :)

But each group only gets half the time. Not sure I see anyone getting more screen time out of it.

I have a feeling that this is splitting the party like back when Elan got captured by bandits. We might get a month or so of seperate adventuring, but they'll be back together soon enough (especially in terms of the book's plotting).

Demiurge out.

There's been party splits before. No biggie. Heck, with all the screen time Elan got for a while there, maybe they'll just kinda skip over Elan and co and focus on the others for a while.
