OotS #470

Honestly, didn't the tramp stamp provide enough "badass" cred?

Tramp Stamps do not make a gal badass. If that were the case then Britny Spears and Paris Hilton would be Badasses, and I just don't see them running around with weapons and intentionally killing things (although I can see them driving around drunk and unintentionally killing things).

Then again... I'm not sure running around and one-shotting mook's would be considered badass even iff it would look like it was.

And yet this means that Haley got the Longbow proficiency somehow...since Rogues don't get the proficiency.

Feat or class........

Race, actually.

I believe that it's been hinted at for a while now that Haley is an aasimar or some such (after all, her evil-opposite-twin is Sabine). In which case, as an outsider she gets full simple and martial weapon proficiencies.

Cheers,

Interesting if true, but do you have any more support for that hypothesis?

Speculations started with her attempt at saying "I'm not exactly what you'd call..." and people filling in the blank with all sorts of stuff. It was thought "what you'd call human" was the least implausible of the suggestions.

I don't recall the exact wording, and can't be bothered to find it, but she started to reveal some big secret to Elan when she was speaking in tongues. I don't remember any other clues, though, or anything specifically pointing toward a different race.

She could be multi-classed, of course. Rogue 7/Fighter 6 would get a BAB of 11 allowing for three attacks (four with Rapid Shot) and four dice of Sneak Attack damage when she qualifies.

Regardless, I like showing that she's a menace in combat. Everybody else has gotten to kick some major behind lately. :)

Unfortunately, as a general rule, Rich has striven to *not* directly indicate the levels or specific abilities of the OotS, in order to allow him some flexibility in narrative.

Which is why it's fun to try and find out the exact levels and special abilities of the OotS.

I'm curious how she did that without any sneak attack dice...

The least Rich could have done is have Belkar stand there doing nothing, and yet providing flanking. At least then he'd have got a D&D joke in.

Really don't need a whole strip wasted trying to show how "badass" Haley is.

Honestly, didn't the tramp stamp provide enough "badass" cred?
She must have read the Star Wars Saga Edition book and is now adding half her character level to damage.

;)
