I think hobgoblins should be considered a PC race -- and they are IMC. I just removed Darkvision from goblinoids to make them LA +0. I love what Eberron has done with them. Of course, that's probably because they resemble goblinoids IMC.

You might want to take a look at our new Kingdoms of Kalamar: Player's Guide to the Sovereign Lands PDF. Not only does it include and update all the races from the 3.0 KoKPG:

Humans
Dwarf (Hill, Mountain, Stone)
Elf (Dark [LA+0], Gray, High, Wild, Wood)
Gnome (Deep, Forest, Rock)
Half-races (elf, hobgoblin, orc)
Halfling (golden, lightfoot)
Hobgoblin (Krangi, Kargi)

but it also adds and updates the three other hobgoblin subraces (Dazlak, Kors, Rankki) from Strength and Honor: the Mighty Hobgoblins of Tellene.

That's because they don't make sense outside the Dark Sun campaign, where they originated back in 2e. All races in that campaign setting are psionic.

Cool. I never played Dark Sun (obviously), but the setting themes always intrigued me.

Hi,

I've just raced through this thread, but it seems like I'm the only person using Magic of Incarnum so far. I have a duskling totem rager (totemist/barbarian) and have enjoyed playing this character. The race is quite interesting and fits well with the totemist and incarnum/meldshaping in general.

In my FR campaign, my wife is playing an air genasi (not on your list, but cool nonetheless), and litorians (from the Shaar) have made an appearance in the game.

Races of Eberron is excellent and I'm keen to try all of the races, starting with changelings. None of the other Races Of XXX books have appealed to me.

Cheers

Richard
