Order of the Bow Initiate Question

Does the Ranged Sneak Attack work ONLY against those who are denied their dex bonus to AC or also against those who are flanked like rogues?

The wording sounds like the first, but my player wants to be sure she isn't being screwed out of a better deal.

Only when denied Dex with a ranged weapon.

You're confusing someone being flanked with the Rogue flanking them. The Rogue has to flank them (which can't be done with a ranged weapon).

Flanking only works with melee attacks, see page 130 of the PHB. Also only melee weapons threaten spaces, not range weapons.

I wonder if the Peerless Archer ability would allow flanking. You threaten at 10', so I imagine so.

'course.. ..it says "as a melee weapon" speaking about the ability to threaten, that is what allows flanking, thus Sneak Attacking...
