Osyluth, not Bone Devil

The new minis preview calls the Bone Devil the Osyluth. I'm guessing we are getting new (actually old) names for some devils. It also states they debated whether or not it was a demon or a devil in 4E, and decided on devil.

Is there a pic ? Devils are supposed to be humanoids now... fallen angels and all that.

Wasn't the Osyluth supposed to be the exception though. The NE "species" who are bound by contract with the rest of the devils. I could swear I read something about that....

No, that's the origin story for Gelugons (which actually does make a bit of sense).

I hate the Osyluths' new look. I hate that they even contemplated turning them into demons, since Osyluths are the freaking POLICE FORCE of Baator. You know, LAW enforcement.

Nope, that was the Gelugon (Ice Demons, or something). Osyluth are Lesser, if memory serves, and were pretty much relegated to foot-soldiering...

I don't like their new look. They should have had more charisma, something to tell : "this is a fallen angel". I think the 3e look was better overall. The new one does not convey anything to me.

Make them emasciated humanoid with vestigal wings and a scorpion dart. A mutant celestial "lich". Not this.

My vote for best "osyluth" would go towards the original bone devil art in the AD&D MM. That bone hook was cool....

I still prefer the old names (AD&D) truth be told. That being said, i can easily work with the newer ones (Osyluth and such)

Also, the new look does not offend me.

I don't care too much, as I think the minis are ugly on the whole anyways.

i mean compare this to a reaper mini ? Or a dark sword one ? MWAHAHAHAHAHA !

But anyhow, what will be the illustration in the monster Manual is much more important to me.

My vote for best looking bone devil EVAR is the Sam Wood illustration in the 3e and 3.5 MM. Great stuff.

This new one; not so much.
