As a father myself, I know all too well the fear that comes with being a parent. Thank goodness it also comes with a host of good stuff too.

Mistwell, I have the same opinions that you do about ENWorld. It is a great gaming resource but along the way, we've become a bit of a family too.

You most certainly have my prayers. And I hope that you and your wife will keep loving and encouraging each other through the remainder of this ordeal. If you can do that then things will be ok, no matter what happens.

Good luck, my friend. And tell your wife that we are all pulling for you guys.

Yes I have. Thankfully, this isn't one of those times. But, Mistwell, if you'll look at the number of "views" on this thread and subtract the number of posts, you'll understand that sometimes words just fail people. But it doesn't mean that they aren't praying for you too.

I just want to say thank you again for the outpouring of support. Melody has relectantly informed her work that she is going on disability, and taken to bed rest and a good diet. She got a ton of blood taken today to run more tests, and we should know more in about 10-12 days. I will keep you informed of her status as I learn more. Keep those prayers, wishes and thoughts coming!

My wife and I are expecting our first, our due date is only a few days after yours. We're waiting on the results of the pre-screen tests that tell if our baby MIGHT have Down's or SpinaBifida, because we're in the "at-risk" category. Even that's nerve-wracking, and it's not even anything definite. I can only imagine...

You're in good hands at the hospital; what we know about pre-natal and infant medicine has come a long way since we were born, even.

My best friend is an Assistant United States Attorney and he works here in downtown L.A. I e-mailed him to see if he's heard of any firms hiring right now. He is out of town through this weekend but hopefully he'll have a chance to respond to me on Monday.

Most of the FMLA only applies after you have worked somewhere for a year, which she has not. This was a realtively new job for her (and one she really likes). However, they have a pretty good policy for events like this there, and her job will probably be held for 6 months.
