This ain't fantasy but how about Little Women?

I know there is a book and I know there is a movie with Wynona Ryder in it out there to.

Also To Kill a Mockingbird, A Christmas Carol, a lot of and books by Stephen King. Same with Shakespere stuff.

Hope that helps.

I don't know about too kill a mockingbird. Yes both the book and movie are quite excelent, the subject matter however might be a bit intense for a kid. when I read it in about the 5th grade it made the tears well up. It's a sad book. of course when I read it it was in the late 70's and I was already aware of the social termoil of the 60-70's.

It is indeed NIMH, short (if I remember correctly) for the National Institute for Mental Health.

We have a forum for book/movie threads. I'll move this over there.

6th grade... so Trainspotting probably isn't appropriate. :D

How about one of Roald Dahl's books, like Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, or Matilda?

It being your favorite book is it possible you've found an unabridged version?

There is no unabridged version, it's a farse. There is no orginal Princess Bride by S Morgenstern. Just like there is no sequal.
