[OT]Brett Favre

The Packers for years now have had a dedicated program using their backup quarterbacks to steal the other teams defensive calls and them send them in Favre before the play got off.

I do not remember the specifics but it included one of their backups standing on the other side of the field. It came out after Chicago picked up a GB backup quarterback that was dropped by GB.

Leopold I got no sypathy for you.

There is no reason for a defensive player to have his hands anywhere near a quarterback's face. Period. He was gunning for Johnson's face and he new it. I saw the replay, it was no mistake.

You didn't see Sapp celebrate injuring that guy and you know it. Sapp was celebrating the interception and it's as simple as that. If Sapp really wanted to play dirty, he could have taken Farve out when Farve went after the intercepter on another play.

All that's going on now is that Green Bay moved into second place and now thier trying to get a fine on Sapp so he has to sit out a game. Green Bay should be ASHAMED at thier actions, and admit that the got their backsides handed to them.

Green Bay should look to figuring out how to fix the problems on theie offence instead of trying to manipulate the NFL into bringing down the Buc's Defense.

I find the question of whether or not Sapp had a legal hit or not irrelevant. The worst mistake was made by the GB coach in confronting an opposing player on the field. I did not see the game, so I have only seen replays of the whole thing. But regardless of if it was a cheap shot or a legal dirty hit, the fact is a coach does not speak directly to a player on the opposing team to say anything other than "good game".

Sapp is a loud mouth and an idiot. I think the "25 and no conscience" is pretty much what you would expect out of him. I don't fault him for talking back, but you would hope he would be smart enough to keep his mouth shut.

The real idiot in this whole situation is the coach who called him aside, and when Sapp held out his hand to shake it told Sapp off. If you have a complaint you go to the league, or if you want a more direct approach, you go to the player's coach. Unless you are the coach, you do not talk to the player. That is a mistake I would not expect, nor tolerate from a High School coach much less a pro.

The league will assign penalties to Sapp for the hit if they are deserved (I haven't seen it enough to form opinion), but the coach should be censored as well.

He didn't spear him, the first bit of contact was with the shoulder.
Yup. He plowed him first with his shoulder. I thought it was a helmet-shot at first too but they were just showing in in slow-mo on TV and it was definately the shoulder that hit first.

First off, I am a Packer fan.
It was a legal hit. Will Sapp be fined? We will know soon enough with the new wuss league we call the NFL. If the tables were turned and it was a Packer placing a hit on an opponent, I would be yelling "Hell ya!"
Should Coach Sherman be fined? I do. What he did was unprofessional.
Chances are they will play again in the playoffs.
Till then "Go Packers! Beat da Bears!"

Peace and smiles :)

I have nothing to add, except...

Go Bucs.

Don't you think that football has become a wussy sport. 30 years ago we wouldn't even be having this discussion. The coaches would of actually yelled at you for not taking a hit that you had and rightly so. They wanted to see blood, either theres or yours. This isn't pee wee football. They are professionals, there is no excuse for not paying attention to everything that is going on around you. If your daydreaming and someone comes and cleans your clock, you desirved what you got. Especially if he was within the rules. I would even tell that to my own teammate. I want to see a lot more hits like Warren Sapp made. Hits like that are what made the NFL in the first place, and now the league is turning football into a mockery of what it used to be. If he would of come up to him and puched him in the back of the neck as hard as he could that would of been a different story, but he didn't. Guys used to be tough, and im my oppinion if you can't take it you don't belong there in the first place.

What next, you'll only be able to punch someone so hard in boxing?
