Three points.
1. I saw the hit several times. It was not helmet to helmet. It was a legal hit in every sense of the word. If it was helmet to helmet or anything else illegal he would have been nailed for it.
2. I find it funny that you find more at fault with the player responding to the provocation and less at fault with the coach who told him to "F- off".
3. The Eagles fine last year was different to a degree. Jim Miller was not moving at all and was hit so quickly that it is hard to tell if the player that hit him could have even known the ball was interecepted. (Assuming of course I am remembering the hit right). Either way though I am against the fine since its hypocritical to give out fines for things on the field that are not in the rules.
I suggest you listen to less shock jocks on the radio and watch the play before commenting. Otherwise you are stuck listening to their biased interpretation of the hit as opposed to forming your own biased opinion.

MuleAvatar said:It might be a legal hit, but he should still draw a fine. The same thing happened twice before that I can remember. Two years ago a Brown blindsided a QB after a INT and was fined ~40K. Last year in the playoffs an Eagle blindsided Jim Miller and drew a fine. The only difference between the three is this is a lineman who got blindsided.
Another point, I have not seen the replays, but some of the sports guys on the radio said that there was helmet to helmet contact on the play and that Sapp jumped up to hit him. Finally, all that I read is that the cameras did not show the celebrations but it was on the scoreboard.
Finally I think that Sherman had every right to walk over there and tell Sapp that he that it was wrong, but he should not have gotten into a obscenity shouting match with him. Also, Sapp should not have pushed coaches at all, and shut his mouth instead of saying that "If I was 25, with no kids and a conscience" about how he felt about assaulting Sherman.
