[OT] Favorite Band?

I'm pleasantly surprised to see a couple of votes for the Byrds (kenjib & cbatt). I love the Byrds and always found that most people underrate them. I especially like watching the way they changed over the years as a band (musically as well as their actual line-up) and find some of their mid to later stuff to be some of the most interesting.

What else...?

Bowie
Pavement
The Who
Sonic Youth
Ice Cube
The Clash
Bob Dylan
Elvis Costello
Wilco
The Pixies
Neil Young
Talking Heads
Primus
Liz Phair
The Kinks
The Fugees
Tom Petty
Steely Dan
Ramones
Joni Mitchell
Lou Reed
Creedence
Sugar
The Replacements
Tom Waits

also I'd like to give a special shout-out to my newest album and favorite this week:
Geto Boys - The Resurrection
Now that's one bad- ass album.

Nine Inch Nails. I'm actually surprised I've seen less answers with this, but they are slipping away from mainstream more and more.

And The Tea Party, even if I have to import every album from my Canadian neighbors these days.

let me instead refer to skinny puppy as FLAs brethren

we all know FLA and skiny puppy are both canadien to the core. they even use the word 'aye' in pretty much every song. ;)

LOL! ;)

And Leeb was once a member of Skinny Puppy as he is (was?) fond of reminding people ;).

Whatever happened to rumours of Leeb and Fulber getting back together on Delerium. Also, I heard after the last tour that FLA is over.

I suppose at some point I should list my fav bands on this thread.. but the list is so Long! ;).

Teflon Billy mentioned Will as a band, but that was just a sideproject of Rhys' in the early days.

Suffice it to say all Leeb-Fulber projects are in my list of favourites ;)

More to come later..

And the sooner that happens, the sooner I might start listening to NIN again. When they hit the "mainstream" it was effin downhill from there.

*Sigh*

I kept hoping to see Cheap Trick listed but I guess I'll have to be first.

20+ albums, 25 years and they are still going strong.

I love that band.

(Oh yeah, and They Might Be Giants)
(and Queen)
(and Eve's Plumb)

YES!.. Although coming from Sweden I am suprised (though I may have missed it in the thread) that you haven't mentioned some friends of mine who are IMNSHO the best band in sweden EVER.

Covenant.

Also, surprised you haven't also mentioned in the same breath as Apop (and Covenent) some other friends of mine VNV Nation. If you know Apop, but not these two I highly recommend picking up their albums.

Currently, I'm loving The Strokes. It's fun driving music.

Best of All-Time: Mercury Rev, The Flaming Lips, and I have to admit that I'm a huge fan of The Wedding Present.

Grew up with: The Fall, The Cure, Skinny Puppy, Ministry, the entire Industrial scene of the 80s and early 90s, Pavement (the good stuff), etc. etc.

James... you constantly frighten me ;). Umm... you didn't happen to go clubbing at all in T.O. in the 90s did you?
