This one was getting pretty constant attention, so I wasn't going to wait for an e-mail.
So here's some ideas for the future:
Some people hate anything OT. Pretty much the attitude of all the mods, admins and Morrus is phooey on that. The strength of this board is how we learn about each other and the occasional (or regular in the Hivemind instance) OT thread helps us do that. Two or three at a time are not drowning out all the "good" topics like how shafted the ranger is, and why Wizards hates half-elves. If you're not interested in a thread, you're not obligated to read it. If you're not interested in a forum, you're not obligated to go in there. Seek the serenity to accept the things you cannot change.
Here's something else to consider. When someone's sexual orientation comes up, treat it as a fact, like brown hair, blue eyes and the fact that I like Harry Potter. None of those is up for discussion. Someone's sexual orientation should not be a political or religious subject. Accept it as a fact that you are not going to have any impact on here. If homosexuality in any form (or heterosexuality for that matter) bothers you, I recommend you leave the thread alone. The best advice I ever got about this type of civil discourse intensive message board is that if you're reading a post that demands a response, the best thing to do is not respond. Publicly, at least, e-mail and PMs are wonderful things.
So we're going to leave the thread topic alone for a few days. Tidus, if you find a forum you like where you can discuss the issue, a short heads-up thread is acceptable. Also, find a place you're comfortable. If you're up to a challenge, Nutkinland would be appropriate, but perhaps not so comfortable.
In the meantime, just like anyone else, OT threads about milestones in your life are welcome here.
That's enough rambling from me.
