For what it's worth, I've always preferred this spelling of Hanukkah, although I don't know why. Our families celebrated with a lovely dinner party (complete with latkes of course) and gift exchange last night. Now in another few weeks we get to do it all again for Christmas -- both my wife and I are from interfaith backgrounds .

May the Festival of Lights be a joyful and blessed time for you and your families!!

My g/f and I are interfaith as well. Well, my parents aren't religious, but they celebrate the standard US holidays. Her family is Jewish, and mine is secular (I'm converting). It sure makes deciding whose house to go to for holidays easy!!

I agree -- no muss, no fuss when it comes to the holidays. My parents chose to host Hanukkah every year; my wife's family handles Xmas; and we throw the shindig for Thanksgiving. Easy .
