[OT] How often do you upgrade your computer?

My old computer normally turns into my surfing machine and my old surfing machine normally turns into a linux server. This upgrade I am doing on the 20th will be a bit different, my celeron 400 will become the surfing and work machine yes, but the k6-2 500 is turning from tehe surfing machine into a neverwinter server instead of a generic linux server.

Then again we have 10 computers between my husband and me and enough pieces to build about 4 to 5 more pentiums if we wanted too.

I'm typing this on my Pentium 200 MhZ running Win 95 which we got 4 years ago, in March '98 (right before win 98 came out). Since I'm in the UK it cost around £1500 or so... *sigh*

Thinking about replacing it with a laptop PC to save space.

That's got to be a typo. The fastest Pentium II (and slowest Pentium III) was 450 MHz, and there's no way you could get a stable overclock to 800 on a PII.

Funny, isn`t it? I study computer science ("Informatik", as we call it in Germany), but I can`t remember if I use a Pentium II or a Pentium III... :)
