(OT) It Snowed!!

Weather, what's that?[1]

[1] For the uniformed - the parts of San Diego within a few miles of the Pacific are sunny with highs between 65 and 75 about 350 days a year. I think this is great, despite being an indoors-type fantasy geek; I'm an Ohio native, and I moved here from Rochester, NY.

My brother, who is, of course, from the same place I am, now lives in San Diego. While he brags about how beautiful the climate is there, he also laments the lack of seasonal change, and misses snow.

I also hear about San Diego all the time. My wife is from there and she has plans to move us back out there within the next few years, now that I have finally finished my degree. I won't miss the snow or the weather changes, but I don't wanna leave my gaming group.

I'm in a Valley, we don't get a lot of snow here. It is strange, if you are in the right place :D

Bah! You're in ohio...it's all flat. What's your valley like 20' below the rest of the state? :)

j/k...

Actually, it's not near as flat as many people think. Sure the Glacier did it's part, but it din't cover the whole state. You want flat got to Nebraska :D

Snow is a good thing in the winter. The way I see things winter is meant for crisp cold air, brisk temperatures and snow. After all, snow beats the heck outta sleet and freezing rain!

Of course, many people just prefer sunny warm weather all the time, but I'm not one of them. I enjoy sledding and snowball fights with my kids (at least the older one -- I don't think the baby is ready yet :p), and roughhousing in the yard with our dogs. I'd miss the snow if I moved somewhere permanently warm.

There is plenty of hilly country in Ohio, especially in the southeast - remember, we border West Virginia, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania. Lots of hills.

Not to take this to terribly off topic, but actually Nebraska is pretty hilly as well - for flat, you need to head south to Kansas. Prettty much everything between Manhatten and the Colorado border is flat.

West Oklahoma and Texas are pretty flat as well.
