[OT] Message from TETSUBO

There was a fire at my apartment building tonight. I and my cats are fine. I have smoke damage but my apartment suffered no actual fire damage. Sadly three fireman were injured and another person in my building was killed. I will be offline for a few days.

I am happy to be OK and that my library survived as well.

I have a favor to ask. Could someone post to the alt.binaries.pictures.weapons and the alt.binaries.pictures.sf-fantasy newsgroups that I will be off line for a few days? The puter I am using isn't mine and isn't set up to read newsgriuos. Thanks in advance.

Hopefully I will be back to scanning and posting pics in a few days.

Having been in an apartment fire myself I know how scary it can be. Glad to hear you're alright.

Thank you. Going to pack up my apartment contents and start lookin for a new place to live. This will be a memory someday. Just glad I can write on the messageboards.

Glad you and your cats are ok! Sorry to hear about fire and that you have to move. Sounds like you were very lucky. Hope that all goes well for you, I know how stressful it can be to uproot and move without much notice. I was in SC back in '89 when Hurricain Hugo hit, took our roof off while we were in it...eek!

Sorting through the damage and trying to gather belongings to move is tough enough, thank God you have your life and health to do so!

We all here will definately keep an eye on your thread and look forward to your return. Take care of yourself, and after all is said and done, treat you and your cats, sounds like you've earned it!

The old apartment is almost empty and I can start looking for a new one. Rather stunned to find out I had approx. 80 boxes of books and about 60 boxes of gaming books. Never saw them all in one place before. Got a rental storage unit to cover the apartment gap. Life will move on. At the moment I and the cats are safe and I just ate a heap of BBQ.

Hope I'm back online full-time soon.

Still alive and still searching for an apartment. Have one possible but it's more than I want to pay and has no parking. Though it is the only one I've seen so far that is large enough for all my stuff. Need bookshelf space. Trying really hard to keep my spirits up. Thankfully I have renters insurance.
