NO Soda rule is an attempt to get me to lose weight.

I moved to Pepsi Max and Coke Light recently to lose weight. Those have like 1/50th of the calories in normal sodas. Of the normal sodas Mountain Dew is the worst in terms of calories.

Hmm. . I guess you don't have Pepsi Max over there. It's one of those no sugar things. Once you get used to it, it tastes better than the regular pepsi. Sprite Zero tastes excactly like normal Sprite, IMO. Coke Light is passable..

I haven't lost weight though. New job and more money just meant that I eat out more, and I'm not the type to order salads in restaurants ;)

Yeah, diet coke and coca cola light is the same thing with different names.

And I second Numion, once you've gotten used to drinking diet sodas you can barely stand the sugary taste of regular sodas. It's a good way to lose weight, I lost 16 kg in three months by just getting away with the sugar that way, and after that I can barely stand the taste of candy and soda. It's worth a try.

never heard of those
is that some european thing?

Cause here the version with no Sugar is called Diet Pepsi.

or Diet Mountain Dew....

Thats about the same idea, I guess. Pepsi Max isn't the same as diet Pepsi, though. There was some specific reason why Max wasn't launched in the US (IIRC it was fear of sales cannibalization from regular Pepsi). Usually they're called light instead of diet here. Light sodas used to taste like crap, but nowadays they're pretty good, IMHO.

I mean, there is a difference, but at least Pepsi Max is good. 1 kcal / 1 dl instead of 40-50 in normal sodas.

Yeah, I bought one bottle of regular Pepsi after two months of light version .. didn't taste good at all.

Might it be the same as "Pepsi One"? It sure sounds like it - tastes better than diet, but has some minor calories (presumably 1).

Diet soda and baked chips (pr pretzels!) are two ways to really easily shed a bit of weight, if you're a typical snacker gamer. (Just don't think 'oh, these are diet/low fat' and have three times as many.) I shudder to think of how many calories I was putting into my system when I drank 2-3 cans of soda a day.

And yes, I walked around a very populated street drinking it out of a windex bottle.

4 people ran up at diffrent times to smack it away from me thinking i was comitting suicide.
2 of them were granny's
1 was a social worker
1 was my boss.

2 cars almost got into accidents staring at me guzzle as I walked across the street.
1 of those cars almost hit me.

14 people dropped their groceries all over the sidewalk.
One of those was me.

Could be. I checked the pepsi site, and the bottle theme is different, which is actually good, since Pepsi and Pepsi Max bottles look confusingly same here. Well, not confusing to me, but parents always seemed to buy the wrong one when I lived with them.

Pepsi One was launched in 98, which IIRC seems to be the same as Max. Judging from that they may well be the same drink.
