[OT] Things My Girlfriend and I Argue About...

Maybe it's me, but when you've had two children with someone and lived with them for over eight years, I don't consider her my girlfriend any longer. Common law wife, yes. Girlfriend, no.

Yes, but its a bit of a mouthful to introduce some "and this is Margaret my common law wife."

Semi funny story - My aunt (native pennsylvanian) was living with a man who was from Europe. Despite her upbringing she protested that they did not need any ceremony to live together (it was, you see, she explained, old fashioned). They moved to San Francisco together and while out there had their first child. When we look at their baby pictures we see a picture that looks suspiciously like a wedding photo. They move back and my mother manages to discreetly ask if they were married now. Turns out they are. It seems that Rob (her man) had a habit of introducing her at social functions as his wife. She, having defended the lifestyle they were living to her family, got fed up with it and forced him to make it official.

∙ She wants to paint the living room yellow. I have not the words.

My wife DID paint the living room yellow. But she does run a home day care out of it. What's Margaret's excuse?

edit: I have read the entire page and joined the mailing list. I gotta show this to my wife...
