[OT] Who are YOU and what do you DO?

27 last week. A year into an MA in History at the University of Melbourne of Representations of race in the first world war (roughly). I live with my girlfriend in a small flat and play DnD, listen to music and wish she didn't liek to watch as much TV as she does.

grew up living all over Asia, but I'm from New Zealand properly (or at leas that's what my apssport says).

I've lived in 6 different cities on 3 different continents.

"Who is your daddy, and what does he do?"

Er... sorry! :)

I'm 23, and just graduated college with a degree in Biochemistry. Right now I'm looking for a job (hire me!), hopefully in the fields of either virology or forensics. I'm hoping to use that as a springboard to do reasearch on AIDS, or maybe work for the FBI - I haven't decided completely which path I want to take.

Let's see... I'm a bitter, cynical, angsty, and angry young man who somehow has MAD charisma SKILLZ. Especially with the ladies. It's the brooding thing, I think. Well, that and because I talk to them and treat them like *gasp!* people. Who knew? :)

Started playing D&D way back in elementary school, 2nd grade. Had the red and blue box sets, and was completely enamoured by them. Played a little bit of everything since then, but only got to play 3E for a short while before I went off to the hell that is Binghamton. D&D's always been my fav though - there's something abut sword and sorcery that just fit. I actually prefer to be a player, even though I like creating stuff - it's the actor in me I guess.

I have a lovely, wonderful girlfriend of about 2.5 years now, who has caused me much angst and grief. I gave as good as I got though, so no complaints here. Though she doesn't roleplay I'm pretty sure I could convince her to try if she wasn't living in Buffalo right now (since she's still in school) and I had a group to play with - something I'm working on at the moment. *cackles evilly*

Oh, my real name is Robb (with two B's, or else!). And I've been told on many, many, many (imagine Alan Rickman saying this) occasions that I would make a really pretty girl. Hey, if the girls like the bishi look, more power to me. It's the eyelashes.

Oh, and I'm pretty humble :D

I'd have believed you if you had used two exclamation points. :D
I am a receptionist, and I answered the phone just now, barely managing to retain my laughter at this exchange.

The reason I am a receptionist is because it finances my English Literature Master's Degree at the University of Amsterdam. My passion for English Literature has declined, but since my exchange year at the University of Sussex, I am considering emigration to England; there is not a day that goes by that it doesn't cross my mind at least once. I prefer English culture and Society in the areas that matter to me (social norms and values, mostly - I find Dutch society to be Apathetic to the extreme).

I am male, 24 years old, and D&D has been a mainstay of weekend pre-pub recreation since I was 16. I enjoy Belgian beers, my three favourites an Amber Ale known as Palm, a dark beer named Rochefort 10 and a cherry beer known as Mort Subite Kriek.

I am also a very politically engaged person, but I can't discuss that on these boards. :D

When I was in Argentina, a lot of people were convinced I was a CIA agent for some reason. But I didn't get the vampire thing going -- that's even better! :D

I could not believe it at first, that people would actually think me a vampire. But they genuinely did. And it was good, and I was very, very bad.

Some things one should know about me: I'm your standard issue 26-year-old white guy. I live with my girlfriend (of four years) and our two dogs. I've been gaming since I was about, oh, 12 or so. I drive an ugly car. We own a nice house in the suburbs with a white picket fence and neighbors who play loud reggae music every Saturday morning. I watch way more television than would seem humanly possible. I have the makings of a sleep disorder. I go out drinking with my friends sometimes, except for my girlfriend who's a teetotaler. I've seen a UFO. Sometimes I just laugh out loud to myself, much to the surprise of others. I barbecue a tri-tip that would make you change your religion. I can't figure out how TiVo works, which is OK because I don't have it. My music collection is respectable, but not obsessively so. I'm guilty of judging people based on which Godfather movie is their favorite. I'm secretly envious of people with higher post counts than mine. To answer the inevitable question, that IS a banana in my pocket, and I'm NOT happy to see you.

Thats pretty much me except:
my girlfriend is now my wife
my white picket fence is chain link
I've never seen a UFO
I don't bbq tri-tip (or even know what it is)
I judge people on whether or not they think Rocky IV is better than Rocky II (It is!)
And I am happy to see most people

I'm 24, I'm a professional actor currently appearing in Terry Pratchett's Eric in York, England, and I've been gaming since 1990. Apart from that, I don't have much else to say right now...:D

I love old buildings; I hate new buildings with a passion, and if I ruled the world, 90% of the buildings would be knocked down and replaced with some decent architecture.

I agree completely. I am fascinated by old cathedrals and one day I will visit Notre Dame, but a part of me knows I am going to be disapointed when I see modern safety stuff / restrooms/ and a gift shop :(

Heya,

I'm an 18 year old, entering college this year as a mechanical engineering major. I'll be attending Cal Poly Pomona, in the LA area as of September. Beside RPGs, I'm a big computer techie. I do web design, art, and programing. I'm looking forward to working in the robotics field and will go for a degree in Electrical Engineering once I have my ME degree. I started playing D&D when I was ten and have grown up playing just about every wizard I can get my hands on.
