Am good writings!

Tolkien, of course. He's just...amazing.

Glen Cook is right up there with Tolkien, in my book. His world is just as developed, and he isn't afraid to be dark and gritty. And oh sweet momma how I love dark and gritty.

Neal Stephenson is rad, rad author. Cryptonomicon is so enthralling that, though it's 900+ pages, I've read it several times.

And while we're on -nomicons, Lovecraft is right fine as well.

Right Now...maybe Michael Marshall Smith

Others include:
George R.R Martin,
Robin Hobb,
Steven Pressfield,
and Lynn Flewelling.

Ooooh, authors. One of my favorite subjects.

-- Right on mroberon1972, Ray Fiest has to get some mention in here. Love his books.

--Christopher Stasheff: great work with puns and such in Her Majesty's wizard... tho not quite on par with Anthony
--Piers Anthony: I love the incarnations of immortality
--Terry Brooks: The first fantasy author to really take me away
--Terry Goodkind: the first author who made me gag from reading a book :)

Other Stuff:
Clive Clussler: A great author who can twist and turn any plot beyond comprehension.
Chiam Potok: Asher Lev was a great book and one I wouldn't mind reading again
Hemmingway: I did really like Farewell to Arms

Good lists guys, I am agreeing alot with you guys :)
