(OT) Your Thanksgiving Feast - What is it?

I'm just curious what everybody will be eating tomorrow. I know the statistics say 95% of Americans (or thereabout) eat turkey on thanksgiving. Are you part of that majority?

Personally we eat Turkey so often that tomorrow we are planning on cooking a goose with cranberry stuffing. We will also be having mashed potatoes, baked yams, fresh bread, green salad, cranberry muffins, pumpkin pie, apple pie and tea.

So what is on your menu?
Care to share with the curious? :)

turkey (of course :D )
garlic mashed potatoes
corn pudding (yes, it sounds odd - but it's actually closer to a casserole (baked corn))
baked yams
some form of bread (usually croissants)

pumpkin pie
pumpkin cheesecake pie (yummmm!)

[edit - there will also probably be stuffing and another vegetable on the menu..]

one of the freaks

well, if the finacee and I were going to make the trek to see the family, my über traditional aunt would stuff us with turkey and dressing and all that.

but, since we're staying home we're going to be freaks and eat chili and cornbread. it's good stuff, amigos.

we always have a houseful for thanksgiving. no family really, but we load in the friends, foriegn exchange students, the troubled and the like :) (one year we had 16!!!)

we always ask around for traditions from other families to include, the single mom of 4 that is joining us this year asked for "pink stuff" which is based on jello, but contains much more and looks like candy seafoam :)

other than that most of it is easily recognizable as traditional stuff.

i don't think that's freaky, i think that's the start of a cool tradition!

for Christmas Eve dinner, one side of the family likes a traditional turkey and ham and accessories dinner. the other side orders pizza! :D

We're having the traditional tomorrow - turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, stuffing, vegetables of far too many types, and of course the freaking pumpkin pie. :D

Of course, I'm about to make some of you very mad by now telling you that our office staff just had the same thing for lunch just now, on the day before thanksgiving. :D:D:D

Popcorn, toast... what else did Snoopy serve? :)

Actually, since you asked, we probably will have stuff like that -- we're just eating "party food" and watching movies. On Friday, however, when my sister-in-law rolls into town with her husband and little kid, we'll have the pretty traditional Thanksgiving fare. Although none of us like cranberry sauce...

I'll be visiting the olde home town tomorrow, and fare at my Mom's will be the standard compliment of turkey, dressing, and her excellent sweet potato casserole.

There's also a yearly gathering of my friends around the area, and we'll be doing our new tradition - cooking turkeys in the deep fat fryer. Mmmm, good.

I'm just happy it's egg nog season. :D

This will be the first year in quite a while that we haven't had a large gathering - it will just be the 4 members of our immediate family and a friend from high school. So far the menu is:

Turkey and Tofurkey(My friend is a vegetarian)
Stuffing and gravy
baked yams w/pecan and brown sugar topping
orange-cranberry relish
Green salad (might skip this - Salad takes up space that could otherwise be filled with turkey , yams, and pie)
pomegranate salad (My wife is a sucker for this)
green bean cassarole (you know with the french fried onions and mushroom soup. I also add a goodly amount of parmesan cheese)
the freakin' pumpkim pie
apple pie
Mulled wine and cider

It's way too much food for 5 people (espeially whem one is only a year old, but Margaret (my wife) is on-call at the hospital today, Friday, and Sunday for 24 hours a pop, so left-overs from the meal should get her (and some of the residents on-call with her) through the next few days. :)
