Paint Set for a Beginner

It's been over 20 years since I have painted a mini . . . my pots are all dried up and the companies I used to buy from are out of business. But I bought Paizo's "Dark Elf Sanctum" Compleat Encounter, which came with some excellent miniatures. I'd like to paint them, so I need a nice basic paint set. I will probably never have enough free time ever again in my life to paint regularly, so I'm really looking for something that's fairly cheap. Suggestions?

Hmmm,

Reaper has a basic paint set
Games Workshop has offered a basic set on occasion.

My advice at this point would be to go to a game store and just buy the colors you want to use for your complete encounter. It would likely be cheaper and you have exactly what you want.

If your local game store has a Paint night, then just show up, pay the fee and paint.

Another suggestion: Check with your game buddies. Maybe one of them paints and you can just get together and paint. Give him some money for paint and he/she will become a happy gamer for your thoughtfulness.

I hope that helps.
Game ON!

I'll go with nyrf - ask somebody in your group, local flgs, to paint with you so you can borrow their paints and get a few tips.

The starter kit I got from games workshop was significantly cheaper than its component parts, and everything but the Space Marine mini was useful to me.
