I voted to keep the paladin as is ... BUT I would LOVE to see "paladin" type classes for the other alignments as well ... which really makes it start to sound like a bunch of PrCs

I'ld like to see PrCs as being more regional and core classes being more world wide so I guess I go back to leave it as is

I can understant that yearning, but really, having 8 or 9 of the things means that no one of them is really very special. Part fo the paladin's draw is uniqueness. Making a psuedo-paladin for each alignment means none of them is really a unique concept.

I won't answer that poll simply because I have both kinds of Paladins

"Called" LG PRC Paladin
"Champions" NG PRC Paladin analog
"LIberators" CG PRC Paladin analog

and NG and LG Paladin core classes

I voted to make it a PrC. I mean the blackguard is to evil what the Paladin is to good. I don't think the blackguard is all that and a bag a chips, but I never truly understood why the evil version is a PrC, but the good isn't.

Now for the tangental comment that has nothing to do with my post:

Paladin: What are you?
Blackguard: *pouty voice* I'm a bad paladin
*whiny voice* And your a good paladin....you're a goody little two shoes.

I think you know where that conversation is going...

I voted it should be a PrC
That just makes it "more special" (hehe)

It just fits my idea of the Holy Warrior, being a dangerous fighter but taking up a sacred cause and getting some benefit from his holy calling.

I also don't know that he should Have to feel like a "Knight" as much as "The Ultimate Slayer of Evil."

All IMHO of course. I am not oppsed at all to keeping them core though. I just think PrC would help reflect the fact of just how rare they are.
