Paralysis confusion

Hi!

Just why is the Ghoul Paralysis [MM 119] (Ex) when the DMG [296] says that paralysis is (Su) or (Sp) and the MM [313] says that it is (Ex) or (Su)?

Is the MM correct as a primary source?

Kind regards

Because there also are poisons, which paralyse, which are not very magical in nature, it makes sense to have an (Ex) paralysis, really.

The DMG only really speaks about magical forms of paralysis.

I think that the specific monster entry is always the one we should refer to. I have no idea why DMG/MM should mention that paralysis (or any other ability) is necessarily one of 2 types only, since almost every special ability possibly exist in all the forms Ex/Su/Sp.

Hi!

Understood!

Does any of you have any idea about my other paralysis question (thread)? "Stiff upper lip" or "ice in the sunshine"? ;)

I'd like to know.

Kind regards
