Patent Attorney or Agent

I am looking at having a patent search done (and hopefully eventually a patent applied for).

Any one have advise on using a Patent Attorney vs. an Agent?

Other patent advise or specific recommendations for the Indianapolis area are welcome.

Thanks!

Well, Patent is one of the few legal specialties where you actually have a specific bar to pass. Those guys are pretty well trained, and they charge for it. Eventually, you'll probably need one if you're going to actually apply for a patent, so I'd say start off by giving one a call.
