+1. Many poster that flocked to Paizo got tired of your game suck if your doing x marketing. That more then most things turned my group off to 4e before it was even previewed

Now while paizo does have its hot headed posters on both sides things are not as bad as say wotc forms or RPGnet's d&d section
In my experience both the WotC boards and RPG.net are generally more tolerable on this subject.

I can't speak to rpg.net, but you've been lucky to avoid the 4vengers on the WotC boards then. They act like it's a personal quest to trash anyone who finds anything about 4e that isn't perfect, even to the point of going after 4e fans. I don't see that sort of quasi-organized zealotry anywhere else online (even Razz as an army of one didn't get that bad, and he was banned on Paizo, among other places), but it makes for a genuinely unpleasant environment.

same goes for a group on RPGnet. they hate with a passion 3e, and pathfinder just hurts them..not sure why

Yeah the wotc boards got to the point that being told to die and called names that will get ya banned here was ok, if they was at a non-4e fan. Rpgnet has almost got that bad with pathfinder. If you dont think it sucks well ya get piled on till you leave

4E might be a fine system many love it but no system is perfect. I just hope that we can get to a point we CAN joke about it's flaws ...just like we do with every other system out there

Again, in my experience this has not held true. The vast majority of the time all they are doing is addressing some of the more common (often false) criticisms leveled against 4th Edition.

This is very different from bashing a game on its own forums (whether they be forums owned by the company that makes the game, or forums dedicated to the game run by a different group).

I have always witnessed the moderation on the WotC boards acting very appropriately. I have not seen any of the things you are describing. This strikes me as odd. Given how much time I spend there, I would have expected to witness some of this behavior.

Not sure where you was then, I am far from the only one who recall that. Or being warned by a mod while the guy I responded to got nothing and called me far, far worse

go talk Pathfinder on them then. see how long it stays tolerable.
I was pretty active in one of the most recent Pathfinder threads on RPG.net. There was certainly a good deal of criticism leveled at 3.5 in that thread, and one of the Pathfinder previews, but I happened to agree with that criticism. I didn't see any unconscionable behavior coming from the 4th Edition crowd there - argumentative disagreement, yes, but it was backed up with logic rather than personal attack.

Either way, this is starting to veer into off-topic territory for this thread.

Humm saying things about the pathfinder fighter that would get you banned here is ok criticism I take it. sorry man you been forming at the mouth if it was said about 4e

But yeah lets get back on topic
