PC on PC action!

This only happened to me in one of my long-running NWN campaigns. Maybe it's easier to RP this sort of thing via a computer medium as opposed to around a tabletop (we play by post in between weekly sessions). That group has two female players (out of seven), and both of their characters are married to other characters in the party. One has two kids, one of which is named after another PC. For a while, there was a bit of a love triangle going on when one of the new female players joined; ultimately she chose the bard over the warrior (for a time the latter disliked the former, but I think they've gotten over it, now). I allow some sexual innuendo etc., but nothing graphic.

I didn't encourage this at all and I think the players actually worked a lot of it out in PMs that I wasn't a party to. It's added a lot to the game, however, in terms of character development and interaction.

Most of the campaigns I've been in have had some attempt at inter-party jiggyness, for both good and ill. Sometimes I've been involved, sometimes I just watched as the train wreck occurred. Not once yet have I been in the train wreck, though, and for that I thank the gaming gods.

The biggest warning I can give you as a DM is to watch out for any players who are desperate to have an in-game romance. In my experience, they frequently go too far and have a habit of pissing off the other players. If you see this happening in your game, take the person aside, let them know that they might want to concentrate on the adventuring side of the game, and that they should let any romances (if any are possible) to take their own course. Forcing something like that on your fellow players is not only rude, but takes away from the momentum of the game.

I just wish I had had someone give me that advice before the train wreck occurred in my own game. As it stands, I have players now who do not wish to socialize together outside the game, and getting them to agree IN game is becoming more difficult as well.

If it goes well, though, more power to both (or more) players involved. It definitely has the potential to strengthen the party's loyalties and sense of duty to one another.

All I can say regarding the thread title is - 600 + viewings in less than 48 hours. You can't say it didn't get attention.
Threads of that type are always a source of good laughs -- or at least of chuckles.

Me and my (ex) girlfriend gamed in the same group. We kept our "flirting" to the causal, she'd run to me in combat (she was a weak sorcerer, I a combat house cleric) and usually were the ones paired off. Hell, we went on the same initiative number more often than not (fated dice, I guess).

The only reference to "getting it on" was when one of the PCs went to knock on my cleric's door looking for some healing late night after a bar-brawl. When they knocked, I commented I wasn't in my room. The Player, not missing a beat, said, I knock on Sedra's (the GF's PC) door and scream "Thomas (My PC), get your ass out here and heal me" Grudgingly, Thomas answered the door, cast a CSW, and told the PC to get lost before closing the door on him.

The game didn't last as long as the relationship, so who knows if our eventual break up would have ended our character's relationship. The sentimental slop in me assumes they went on to sire a beautiful half-elven child and retire, a better fate than the players had.

In our gaming group the party rescued this elf guy. The female elf dragon disciple in the group was pleased to have someone to talk to since the leadership of the party swung between the half-orc barbaric fighter and the dwarven wizard. Reasoned debate was non-existant. this elf initiated a relationship with the elf DD and the elf DD was very happy.

The new elf told us of a place beset by evil and we went to help out. eventually we worked out it was a vampire and during the course of trying to deal with that we got sucked into a strange place by a weird fog. (DM doesn't call it the R word but....)

Anyway, turns out the elf is a henchman of the big bad and we are supposed to do something to make him not destroy our land/world/plane. The whole relationship and the town beset by vampires was just to get us to that place to be brought through.

Now, most of the party is annoyed and willing to kill the BBEG and his minion, the DD is grim and wants to inflict pain along with an absolute and final death on the minion.

It has been a good bit of roleplay, although it will be a long time before anyone in the group will go with a relationship with an NPC again.

This was great. We are out in the hall at Gen Con talking when MM comes up to us saying "You've got to see this thread!" Kevin perks and ear at the mention of the PC on PC action and the picture of him posting is just great!! :D
