Actually, as a male, I sometimes find that my female characters come off as more convincing and realistic than the males. I don't know what that says about me. My best guess is that I need to be able to find ways to distance the character from myself before she can truly come to life, and gender swap does this for me (I'm guessing playing a really weird race might do it too, but as a GM, I rarely get to play at all, so I've never done that)deadestdai said:I think it all comes down to gamer maturity levels and that of the party/GM you are gaming with.
I play mostly males because I am just that and so it's easier for roleplaying purposes. But I also create female characters from time to time to give myself a challenge. Rp'ing as a convincing female role, is very hard to do well. And I'm not that good - but it's fun to try.
