Peace no More (Jemals Epic Game)PROLOGUE

Verdane recognizes the need for immediate action and more than one for that matter! He does not hesitate and casts time stop (SR check +26, DC 41). The spell/action sequence is then as follows:

Sub-round 1:
wall of force to block off exit through mirror of mental prowess
disjunction to remove any protection the enemy may have
Sub-round 2:
knowledge check of enemy
disintegrate
Sub-round 3:
stoneskin
activate staff for meteor swarm centered on enemy, if needed
Sub-round 4:
detect thoughts (checking on the possibility of having more than one enemy)

OOC: Welcome to epic level DMing! Good luck.

Eigan tries to keep the man from fleeing to other dimensions, but though the ray strikes dead on, nothing seems to happen as it resists the spell.
After an instants hesitation upon seeing the man resist Eigans spell, Verdane stops time (3 rounds. From now on, though, I'll let you roll it yourself and then post the actions for the rounds you get, to speed things up).
He quickly thows up a wall of force to block off the mirror exit.
He considers setting a Disjunction to hit his opponent, but realizes the distance is too great (200' away, range on MD is 90' for verdane), so instead moves closer.
Verdane is very surprised indeed, when he considers the man, and all he can think of in regards to this enemy is that he reminds him of the legendary "Vampire Masters" Who dissapeared an eon ago, and have been prophesied to bring about the end of life and the return of the King of Death.
Blanching a little, he pops of a disintegrate beam at the enemy, then slaps a stoneskin spell upon himself and just as time begins to speed back up, fires a meteor swarm at his enemy.

OODM: Little side not to Perivas - remember when you're shooting off spells in a Time Stop that none of them take effect on other beings until the Time Stop ends, meaning that the Disintegrate, and Meteor Swarm hit at the same time. the "if needed" part of your meteor swarm could never come into play b/c the disintegrate happens After your time stop ends.

IDM:
The disintegrate does not fare well, seeming to dust off a patch of flesh from the mans arm, but little more.
Fortunately, he glances down at his arm in annoyance just as the meteor swarm slams into him, blowing him back through the air 40 feet, twirling end over end with his robe smoking.
The dark man recovers and shakes his head, then, pointing his finger at Rynin, unleashes 4 sickly green rays right after each other (Quickened Disintegrates) and begins flying backwards, 180' farther away from the group.

Fortunately for Rynin, the Holy Warrior is able to stay standing as all 4 of the rays burn into him, and although he feels the evil power of the spells trying to tear him apart, he resists and when it is over he is only mildly worse off (47 damage from successful saves)

OODM: Just a note about meteor swarms - unless you state otherwise when casting the spell, I'll assume any meteor swarms are the 4-ball type. Though it doesn't matter much in a case where there's only 1 badguy, I thought I'ld give you a heads up.

counting all the movement this round,
The BG is moving away and is 40' in the air.
Rynin is now 280' from BadGuy, about 20' below him.
Verdane and Eigan are 360' away, both on the ground.
Estefan+Champions are aprox 600' away, flying away.
OK, enough with the chit-chat. ROUND 2... FIGHT.

Rynin uses both his partial and full round actions to charge the enemy spell caster (360') and attacks with the Fist of Pelor in a invoking the holy name of his diety (Great Smite)

OOC: Fist of Pelor +64 To Hit
(BaB: 26/+12 Str/+5 Weapon/+1 Weapon Focus/+2 Epic WF/+2 charge/+14 Smite/+2 Divine Inspiration)

d6
+2d6 holy (if evil)
+91 (14 str/ 5 weap/12 Divine Might/58 Smite/+2 Divine Inspiration)

considered +7 vs. Damage Reduction

Did the disintegrates overcome my SR 40? I figured they would, I was just curious.

Estefan brings the champions to a safe distance away from the main battle, preferably outside city limits (if not possible this round, this action will take place when it is possible).

He will lay those of the champions down on the ground that he is carrying and shift into his normal shape. After looking over each champion and their current state of health (Heal +49), he will offer to heal them. If they accept...

He will meditate for a moment and speak softly "Strengthen them, my love". Then, green and blue sparkles will rise from the ground and surround each hero, filling them with the awe-inspiring feeling of unconditional love.

OOC: Use the staff to case mass heal on the champions.

His hands still busy (another round of haste), Eigan moves toward his enemy. "The Sun's light shines not only from the sky, fool!" With that, he holds out his staff and lets forth a plea that the light of Pelor may flow through him. Immediately a beam of tremendous brilliance fires through his outstretched hand, directed squarely at the flying villain. (Sunbeam, DC 31, CL check +38)

Having recognized the deadly power of this opponent, Eigan swiftly bring his hands inward, and bows his head briefly in prayer: "Bright Father, may you guard me against death, that I may so guard my allies." (Death Ward, target self.)

Verdane puts away his staff and draws forth his bow. He then unleashes his arrows upon the enemy. OOC: I'm thinking I only get two shots here (one from attack action and one from the bow?).

Verdane also throws in an automatically quickened distingerate for good measure.

Rynin surges forwards smashing the Fist of Pelor into the mans chest. He can hear the sickening thud of bones cracking as the man flies backwards from the force of the blow.
Verdane (Yes, 2 shots) fires a pair of arrows into the battle, but both miss narrowly, seeming to veer away at the last instant. His quickened disintegrate fares little better, not even penetrating the shield of resistance around the badguy.
Eigan unleashes a beam of sunlight, but it splits right in front of the dark man, flowing to either side of him and leaving him unscathed. He then activates the Death Ward on himself.
Estefan stops to speak to the Champions, but the half-elven Druid motions him away "Go, they'll need you, we'll stay out of your way, great one. I can handle my friends."
The Dark Man groans in pain and looks at Rynin. "You shall pay for that, warrior. I don't know where you lot came from, but I WILL be back to destroy you." He then sets off 3 quickened meteor swarms between himself and Rynin (Whos 10' away) and when the explosions clear, he is nowhere to be seen.

Rynin manages to avoid the worst of it, but still ends up taking 148 points of fire damage.

Eigan remains alert for the duration of the spell (he has a few more beams to toss, after all), making his way over to the wounded, almost unthinkingly: It is pure habit by this point.

"Rynin! Quite courageous of you, but how worse off is your flesh for it?" He takes a cursory look over the Paladin's wounds. "Nothing more than you can handle, I'd wager... But holler if you need any assistance."

He takes a few steps in the direction Estefan left, scanning the distance.

"Now, where did Estefan go with the young ones? I doubt much that this was such a tidy battle for them..."

Rynin Lays Hands on Himself as he begins toward the wounded champions. "Thank you brother Eigan. I am fine. Pelor protects me. How are the others. I fear they did not fare as well against that level of magic"

"Verdane, do you know who has that type of power? Those blasts seemed powerful to me and to loose 3 at a time...I am alive by the blessing of Pelor."

To Estafan, "How are our friends?"

To the Champions (assuming they are well enough to talk), "Thank the Light that you are well. Have you had any luck learning what happened before we got here?"

Rynin will continue trying to ascertain as much information as possible with the group in the area.

Estefan nods his head to the druid, "May she hold you in her healing breast this night." Then his skin becomes lighter in hue and twists and twirls in a counter clockwise direction. He flys towards his companions. [IIRC, I had headed the opposite direction from the battle and could not be seen with the continuing darkness].

"They have lost a number of themselves, but my fellow druid assures me that it is nothing beyond their abilities to recooperate from." He looks over Rynin and frowns, "You look worse for the ware," the druid remarked grimly, "do you have use of healin magics?"
