Percentage Dice

I prefer d100 to d20 because within a d20, characters tend to be much less unique until high levels where enough bonuses add up in a few areas to tell them apart. This is especailly true in 4e and min/max player groups where you can predict the make-up of each character.

Purchase a properly manufactured (balanced) d100 if rolling two dice is too much trouble or use two d10s like most %ers and have fun waiting for that second die to stop rolling before victory or defeat is expressed around the table.

I love my percentile dice. I find an excuse to roll them whenever I DM. For my upcoming campaign, I've prepared a 50-item table of "interesting loot", which can only truly be modelled by percentile dice. :)

I spend 95% of my time playing D&D as the DM. I spend hours alone setting up adventures, drawing maps, and rolling random numbers. I find it to be at least as much fun as playing.

My percentage dice never went anywhere.

A good way to bring them back to the table is to return to the use of percentile spreads in some classes. I remember thieves and assassins needing to keep a pair of ten siders ready at all times. Wizards and clerics needed them too just not as often.

D20's are okay but designing everything around them makes for some lonely dice in your bag.
