Periodicals sales finally announced!

The good thing is, reading the list of CEO's is like reading the list of publishers for Dragon and Star Wars Gamer. All these people are former Wizards alum's and it looks like they are good people to have at the helm.

The possible bad thing is, will they be able to keep up the quality level of the magazine?

We'll just have to wait and see.

It's clear that they have the skill.

Will they still be able to get the advertisers?

Will they still be able to pull in the subscriptions?

Will the newsstands that carry them continue to do so?

Will the people submitting quality material continue to do so?

We will see.

Dragon & Dungeon - whew

Sounds promising. I was slightly worried when the rumors were that the magazines were being sold outright; but the press release says that a 'publication agreement' has been reached - meaning to my untrained ears that both magazines will retain a relationship with WotC that will allow the magazines to remain the official magazines for D&D. And that, for me, is a good thing - especially since the current editor (at least for DRAGON - Dungeon's fate is left vague, isn't it?) is being retained.

If we're lucky, it won't seem like anything has changed, while they might be more free to change things and experiment a bit (more d20 coverage, perhaps?). All in all, a promising new era for magazines I've been reading for nearly two-thirds of my life...

Where on the front page?

Huh? Right on the front of the front page, staring at you when you look at today's news. Two enormous great big blocks of orange text.

Bump; but also, there is no mention of this at all on the WotC sight; therefore, I'm taking a skeptic's approach. When WotC announces the sale on their own site, I'll believe it.

I love when people say that. Dude, your obviously new as you only have 7 posts, but WOTC send all there stuff directly to Morrus, long before they bother putting it on there site.

When Morrus says it's a rumor, you can doubt it, but when he says press release it's only a matter of time before it hits there site. They don't use that site for releasing important information. They use Morrus.
