Just assume the permanent spells are "attached" to the soul, not the body. So they would also reappear if the subject were reincarnated.Deset Gled said:Would the fact that the subject is no longer a valid target for the spell (i.e. a dead body is an object, not a creature or whatever is the target of the original spell) have an effect on the spell? I know that this arguement doesn't work against cases like Awaken, where the duration is instantaneous, but I can't remember exactly how it works if the duration is permanent.
I believe that targeting is only important when the spell is cast.Deset Gled said:Would the fact that the subject is no longer a valid target for the spell (i.e. a dead body is an object, not a creature or whatever is the target of the original spell) have an effect on the spell?

Otherwise, you could break a charm spell by removing the line of effect to the caster (as the charmed creature would no longer be a valid target for the spell).

Is death a good way to remove charms from fellow party members?
No it doesn't. Or you would also loose the permanent spells when you Polymorph into something else temporarily.GakToid said:Does the answer differ if you use raise dead on the actual body or if you use true resurrection without any body (or body parts)?
