One more reason to bring back 'old' Modern English :)

True. Why should thou be slow to accept "singular they" yet quick to accept "singular you"?

Or should I say, "Wherefore shouldst þou..." (^_~)

If you don't like the way we misuse contemporary modern English, think how much more you'd hate how we'd butcher archaic modern English!

Voted He but would prefer He/She . I'm surprised by the number of people that voted They ; did you fail English? (Assuming its your primary language, of course.) That is a completely inappropriate use of they; they can ONLY be used when describing a group, not a choice between two objects. (Though I have heard it used the other way, it grates my garbanzos every time.) :\
First, as has already been mentioned in this thread, "they" has a distinguished pedigree as the singular and plural pronoun which dates from before Shakespeare, who also used it. That it fell out of favour in subsequent centuries isn't a black mark against its name, considering it disappeared about the same time as prescriptivist idiots started trying to make English conform to Latin rules of grammar.

Second, I voted that way, and my one of my three university majors was English. Don't presume that your narrow opinion or education on a matter speaks for everyone with an education or an opinion.

Was there a box somewhere explaining that the gender was based on the iconics? If there was, I never noticed it and was often puzzled by the switches back and forth.
I would rather it stuck with he or if it was alternating that all of the examples clearly state it's an example, clearly state which character they're referring to and then use the appropriate pronoun.
So, instead of saying "When a character casts fireball, she ..." just say "Example: When Mialee casts fireball, she ..."
And if it's not an example, like in the description for Rogues that says "She gets sneak attacks at ... " it should just say "A rogue gets sneak attacks at ..."
