PHBII has Half-Orcs and Goliaths

I didn't see any threads discussing this.

Oddly, the only place the Swordmage is mentioned on that page (aside from the summary at the top), is the Arcane Power source book. Maybe it's referring the FR Book?

If the SM is in PHBII, then that means the Shaman isn't. Which is a real shame. I was looking forward to the Shaman.

Though I wonder how people will feel if the SM is reprinted from the Forgotten Realms Players' Guide. I myself am glad I don't have to buy it for the SM, but those who buy both might not be happy with getting the same material twice.

I really hope we see orginal stuff and not just books theat slowly convert all the stuff we got in 3e.
One of their first priorities is likely to placate some of the disenfranchised players. However, I see it as more indicative that the WotC division of Hasbro is beleaguered and lacking funds, hence the true reasons for the 4e in general. Easier and cheaper to rehash stuff... just look at art, maps, etc.

Call me pessimistic, but I see grim circumstances.

I think its an error by the scooper. If you go through, you see that only the barbarian, druid and sorcerer are mentioned under PHBII. Bard has been mentioned before. But my guess is that Arcane Power will have stuff to support the Sword Mage...from the FR PG.

That's interesting. Before, you didn't see much crunch for stuff that's released in other sourcebooks.

I wonder if this means that, even if the only place they print the Artificer is the Eberron book, we'll still see Artificer crunch in "mainstream" splat books, not just Eberron-specific books.

When writing the scoop, I grabbed info from several spots. Unfortunately they were not all referring to the PHB2.
All that the catalog confirmed was Barbarian, Bard, Sorcerer and 5 more as yet unnamed classes. I cannot confirm swordmage, or even bard.
Arcane Powers confirms the existance of the swordmage and bard, but does not indicate a source for them.
For races it confirmed gnome, half-orc, and goliath as being included, no idea how many more.
Sorry for the misinformation.

Considering the amount of people who want enchantment/illusion/necromancy/summoning/psionics/the monk, I have the feeling we'll get a lot of converted stuff because there's a huge demand for it.

30 people screaming on the net is not a huge demand. And psionics and the monk have always has as many haters as lovers but I imagine we will still see them. By giving us things we already have they are not doing a great job of showing what the game can do. That's what I want to see.
