In DMG p.117, second column, mid+ it is written tha phosphorescent Fungus illuminates light as well as it is used for drow food.

What kind of light is that? radius? if cut does they continue to light?

Fungus is always in my campaign. When in profusion (large colonies) I allow PCs with low-light vision to see 20' in those areas. Humans are still screwed. So, I guess I don't reallly assign it a radius. I don't care how long you place your Glo-In-the-Dark Duncan yo-yo under the lamp -- once you turn the light out it doesn't radiate more than 1'.

I've always pictured it like the Phosphorescent fungus in the movie version of Journey to the Center of the Earth. (Can't recall if it's in the book, but I think it is.) I also suspect this is where it was taken from. .

I don't recall any mention of this in the 2e books, but I used it all the time, and I got the idea from the movie

Basically the fungus gives off a soft glow equivilent to twilight, the glow fills the area where it's contained so there really is no radius, it's just how ever far the walls are coated you can see.

As for making it where humans can't see with this, what's even the point of having it. You use this so people don't have to carry torches, or at least I do. Made a whole city of underground humans once lit by this.

I'd say that you could set the illumination level at any point on the scale. If there's a lot of it, then the concealment level would be low, if there's only a little, then the concealment level would be high. Low-light vision would improve the light level by one step.
