I'm new to these forums but hardly new to D&D. I've been DM'ing a continuing campaign for six years now but have rarely had the chance to actually play a PC in one.
So... I am looking to get a group together (or join one) that may be interested in beginning a Forgotten Realms campaign here since there is a lack of them. I'd like to play with people who are knowledgeable of the setting... someone who does not want to play a half-rakshasa/half-gnome barbarian assassin who travelled with gythyanki ice cream merchants.
You can play what you wish, but I would much rather take the basics and make them something spectacular through roleplaying and creative writing. I'd rather the allure of a character be his/her personality rather than some outrageous racial combination.
