Players from Hell.

This is minor compared to most of these, but at the time it irked the hell out of me. There was a girl, we'll call her Jen, because that is her name. Jen likes playing magic-using characters. Or rather, Jen likes playing magic-using characters the way she wants to, which is to spend the entire gaming session in her room at the inn/in the car/in a bus/off in the woods somewhere reading her spellbook. If the game in question doesn't have a spellbook, she "communes with nature. That's it. The whole time. If the GM ever sends anything after her to get her into the game, she runs away from it. And usually winds up getting her character killed. Then she rolls up a new character exactly like the old one and does the same thing. Guess she just likes hanging out with people.

I don't know why the players names are hidden. That's only done in COPS to protect them because they are innocent until proven guilty - which isn't the case here :p :)

One of my players tells me tonight that he's ditching out on my Sunday DNW game. Is it because he has to work? No. Is it because he's got some religious obligation? No. Is it because he has a family matter to address? No. Is it for health reasons? No.

He's ditching out because he wants to see some wankalicious show, and he just decided to do this tonight. Nevermind that two of the other players--who have family and health reasons for their absence--won't be there, so we don't have a quorum and thus can't play. Nevermind that I've put plenty of work into the preparations, or that we moved the schedule for his benefit, or that he's not that popular with the scene right now and thus is on everyone's short list for a curb-stomping, or that he's wasted the efforts of the others in coordinating their busy schedules to match with his needs. None of that matters because there's this really hot chick that he wants to see that fronts some lame band.

My hate of disrespectful, unreliable players burns with the intensity of a thousand suns. (A silent wail) My hat of lamerz know no limit! (/A silent wail)

I think a friend of mine had a player miss a game because the hooker he was with and her pimp beat him up and mugged him. Is that a valid reason to miss a game?

In this case, the core group member knew XYZ for only a semester. Meaning: not very well. We didn't blame the core group member at all. In fact, we didn't blame XYZ either. His illness was beyond his control.

My policy is this: a person can be invited by a core group member if that person has been known by the core group member for atleast a year and is willing to take responsibility for that person.

Beings we are all adults, "taking responsibility" is both a minor yet major detail...if you know what I mean.

NO! NOT BLACKLEAF! I'M GOING TO DIE!!!!:D

Okay, I guess my horror story isn't so bad, so I'l summarise it thusly:
I was in a friend's gaming group, I didn't like a particular player, and he didn't like me.
I was playing a female elven wizard, and he a male half-orc fighter.
He tries to rape my character.
He recieves knee to the nads.
Ouch.

We have a person in our Sunday group (online of course) who can't seem to play a 'normal' character. The first game the DM ran, the person played some created class of his. Don't get me wrong, he sent me the 'make-up' of the class and everything and the guy put a lot of work into it. Unfortunately, the character was all about worthless to the party. He liked to play on the weaknesses of his character instead of finding a strength AKA not being a lump of flesh just following the party around.

We played an evil campaign next and several times I wanted to kill hi character but all those years of party unity just wouldn't let me. When my character found out he was a goody two shoes trying to being the fall of the guys I was working with, well that was a different story :)

The next one was back to the original game but he felt the need to make another character. A character that was a 12 year old boy. GAH! My character was a foul-mouthed female ranger and I continually told one of the other party members to baby sit the kid, I had some grown up things to do. Another character that couldn't benefit the party in any way.

Enter the FR game. He plays a character that acts 'mysterious' AKA hides a lot even from the party members. His then character shoots at an evil wizard we are parleying with because we know, as 1st level characters, he'll kick our ass good. At this point I'm thinking "Are you mental?". The next thing we know we're being attacked by some cultists who wanted to kill the wizard as well (long story short, we parleyed with then as well). Well my character's on the ground half dead because I didn't know orc and an orc attacked me when I didn't obey his, as I say, pig latin.

This is where we think we make a stand on his weird characters. I'm the only one to notice his character is slumped in the saddle and needs help but, thanks to the orc's smacking me down, I'm at 0HPs and delirious. I can't rightfully not say I don't see her slumped but good for me! His female character is slumped against another NPC male! My way out! I, in my out of it state, claim she's stealing my boyfriend! (did I mention I tried to get back at him for playing the 12 year old boy with my 16 year old girl?). ::coughs:: We leave his character to die.

When I hear his next character is going to be a variant ranger (using Wheel of Time stuff in a Forgotten Realms game!), I feel I have better things to do like write that novel I've be working on.

I love the DM and have gamed with him a long time but I can't stand to see this happening anymore. Did I mention they're running a quickie game and the person couldn't even whip out a 3rd level character in a weeks time?

Dude, it's D&D not rocket science.....

Ft Ord Ca. 1983 I hook up with Bob and we go to rec center to scare up more players. A 20+ year sits in. First he wants a Quasit as familiar at first level. I say no not at the beginning of the game. Few hours goes by. The group gains a level. He cast for familiar and get… You guess it a Quasit, at second level. Bob’s ranger (cg) immediately attacks the evil creature and kills the wizards. Bozo then wants the group to raise him. I tell not possible.
Bozo wants to know why? Well a Quasit can be you familiar but gets your soul when you die. Bozo slams his book shut and states” Two big wizards teleport in picking the body of my wizard and all his magic items. Poof they disappear. See if you can get the magic items back!” He then grabs his character sheet and storms off.
Bob looks at me blankly. I return the look. A minute or so pass. I tell Bob to loot the wizard’s body and we look for other players next week.

At my parents house before I left for the Army. Younger brother of one of players is playing. Talks about blood winging (he backstabs a guy with both his daggers the reaches in and pulls the guys lungs out) in a loud and detail voice. And other stuff.. My parents are in the other room and no door between us. Marvel No Prize if you guess how it was before I could game at my house.

Eddie who would threaten most of dms except for one with physical violence if some things didn’t break his way. He generally had 75 pds on us.

Dwayne character names read like a Marvel universe. Quote, can I make it a pet?

Mike no one plays a monk but me.

Gary what no 18/00 I throw myself into the lava pit.

Kerry make no verbal slips or I will rag you the rest of game and the next week at school.

Scott—aka Snooz I kill Gary character. (if either Gary or Scott showed for the game no problems but if both of them did the ground to crawl. And the were quote best friends unquote. )
And some the old timers wonder how come I have love hate relationship with the people I gamed with in high school and college.

No names have changed to protect the guilty the spelling yes.
