Player's Handbook II (and other May releases)

What about jungle?

glass.

As Felon mentions, Jungles are pretty much Warm Forests with extra humidity. At the level of abstraction in the terrain rules, they are probably almost identical to Forests; all you would need is a couple of rules (a sidebar's worth) on humidity.

In addition, Races of the Wild covered a lot of this ground, just as Races of Stone did for Underground.

Not really. Rain forests are warm forests with high humidity. True jungle is a whole other animal (er, vegetable :)).

My prediction: The last bit of unrepublished D&D content in the Miniatures Handbook will be republished by the time the Spell Compendium and Player's Handbook II see the light of day, along with Monster Manual IV or Fiend Folio II or whatever.

The good news, though, is that the monsters, spells, feats, prestige classes and the Marshal and Healer are all pretty good content but absolutely not worth the full price cost of the Miniatures Handbook for those with the Complete Series already.

Repeated for truth.

I have to agree fully with the last two posts. I think the core of the book is going to be a re-tread of the base classes from the complete series at a minimum, plus any they missed from the Miniatures book. The rest of it might be some new equipment probably from the Complete books, and the final part might be some advise on how to play a certain type of character.

Just my thoughts.

I'm trying to think how this could possibly be standard. I mean, do the WoTC police come to the house and verify that everyone is using standard rules and burn up all your rule zero documents? Just seems a silly question.
Well, the first self-titled Player's Handbook is standard rules. Every material in there is standard core rules essential for both players and DM, unless the DM wish to limit some of them for his or her own campaign. I guess I am perplexed as to why we need a second self-titled PHB. I mean, if they're optional, shouldn't WotC just include the material as part of their continuing Complete book series?

"Should?" Maybe.

It'll sell more if they package it as PHB2, though, as DMG2 amply illustrated.

Yeah, but what would be a good title for a series of books to aid DMs? While I like DMG2, could they have thought up a better title for it, made by DMs, for DMs? ;)

I think the healer is kinda lousy at healing, but otherwise /agree.
