Please don't laugh at me... Need help with Pokemon blue.

My Nephew gave me a used game boy game called Pokemon blue. There appears to be a power called *cut* that I can use to cut down hedges but I can seem to get it to work. Any suggestions?

Give the cut power to a grass pokemon that you plan on keeping. Then have it use that power to cut down the dead bushes.

Allows you to go to new areas.

It's a part of the ability of the Cerulian gym badge. how do I activate it?

Do you have the HM(Hidden Machine) that teaches the move yet? You have to teach it to a Pokémon before you can use it.

Found it last night. the captain of a ship teaches it to you.... now I need flash to light up a cavern...

BTW... I have a sandshrew with dig at 25th level now. His name is Geb. he rules.

I had a Bulbasaur that I was attached to. But he and almost all of my other Pokémon from Blue were stolen via Pokémon Stadium.
