Point Blank Shot applicable to spells

I need more help from the gurus. Been away from the rules for too long.

Anyway, does Point Blank Shot apply to ranged spells within 30 feet? If so, does it apply only to those spells that require a to-hit roll, or does it apply to something like a magic missile? Surely it does not apply to an area effect spell within 30 feet (say, a fireball)?

Yep, PBS works only for spells cast at a target within 30' and requiring an attack roll. Yes to scorching ray or disintegrate, no for magic missile or fireball.

Yes, point blank shot applies to all ranged attacks. But not to spells that don't require an attack to hit.
