I think The Book of Vile Darkness covers poisonmaking. There was also a very recent issue of Dragon that included some stuff regarding poisonmaking.

Yes, the November issue (349) has a pretty good article about it.

The best Poisoning book is the Poisoners Handbook from Bastion Press because I have a writting credit in it.

Yes it only currently available in PDF, but hey makes for cheap travel usage!

I think that unless you're going to change the basic mechanic of poison effects, you're never going to make poisons fun enough.

So maybe that Toxicant book is worth checking out.

Well Bastion Press book does offer a way to change...

Though honestly I don't see why it should. But that's just me.
